The Nature Center trails and playground are open every day from sunrise to sunset, year round.

    Nature center trails and playground are open every day from sunrise to sunset, year round.

    Interpretive Center Building Hours:
    Mon - Fri .... 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
    Sat - Sun .... Noon - 5 p.m. (February through November)
    (Closed weekends December & January)
    Holidays ..... Closed

    Prohibited Activities:
    In order to maintain Westwood's natural habitats, the following activities are prohibited.

    • Dogs and other pets.
    • Picking or collecting of any plant or animal including wildflowers.
    • Feeding of wildlife.
    • Alcoholic beverages.
    • Bicycle riding on trails.
    • Releasing/relocating any animal.

    Directions
    The Westwood Hills Nature Center is located in the northwest corner of St. Louis Park, just south of I-394 and east of Highway 169. Parking and admission are free. Pets are not allowed anywhere in the Westwood Hills Nature Center and bikes are not allowed on any of the trails.

    Nature Center Park Packs

    A Park Pack backpack, available at Westwood Hills Nature Center, is filled with nature activities designed for hands-on field investigations for all ages. these themed packs are FREE to use thanks to a grant from Waste Management Inc. for supplies and backpack donations from Hoigaard’s Inc.

    Park Packs include: Self-guided hikes; tools for investigation; art activities; poetry, stories, music and games. Stop by the Nature Center to check out a pack on: Insects, Ponds, Reptiles and Amphibians, Night, Mammals, Wildflowers, Forests and Trees, or Birds. For more information, please call (952) 924-2544. Picture ID and valid credit card are required for deposit.
