The Administrative Services Department is responsible for

  • Ensuring that policy decisions made by the City Council are carried out
  • Handling the overall administration of all City operations
  • Maintaining official City records (agendas, minutes, resolutions, ordinances, contracts, bids, legal notices, etc.)
  • Administering payroll
  • Managing benefits and compensation programs
  • Recruiting and hiring employees
  • Helping train employees and providing on-going opportunities for professional development
  • Handling labor negotiations and assisting with grievances, mediation and labor disputes
  • Overseeing the development of policies governing employees.
  • Registering voters and conducting local, state and national elections
  • Licensing liquor and gambling operations
