print article Hilton Homewood Suites
The Hilton Homewood Suites project will result in the construction of a new seven-story hotel near the intersection of Park Place Boulevard and I-394.  The hotel, with 124 rooms, will have easy access to downtown Minneapolis via I-394 and will be located in close proximity to the West End development.  The hotel will be located on a portion of the Associated Bank building site, improving upon an underutilized parking lot.  Several environmental innovations will be constructed, including a green roof over the hotel’s first floor lobby and entrance area.  The project was approved by the City Council in 2007.  It is anticipated that construction on the project will begin in 2008, with the hotel opening in late 2009.
