Economic Development Authority
The Economic Development Authority (EDA) promotes economic growth in St. Louis Park. City staff, under the direction of the EDA, provide business and economic development assistance, offer tax increment financing and public/private financial packages to promote redevelopment, and handle real estate transactions.

The EDA is comprised of the seven City Council members; however, EDA officers are different from the City Council (the president of the EDA need not be the mayor). EDA members elect their officers at their first meeting in December. EDA meetings are convened as necessary and are held just prior to the regular meetings of the City Council.
