Tree Pruning

The City's rotational boulevard tree pruning ended March 2nd, but will continue next season (January 1, 2013) from where we left off this year. This work is performed by a contractor hired by the city and is intended to improve the health, safety and function of all of our boulevard trees. This project is intended to prune each boulevard tree once every 9 years. The neighborhoods designated in the 2013 cycle for pruning are Browndale, Eliot View and Blackstone.

Routine pruning of public property trees is handled by city contractors and is conducted during the months of January- March.  Boulevard trees are only pruned once every nine years at no cost to the adjacent property owner. The adjacent property owner may opt to pay for earlier pruning as long as they use a tree service licensed by the City of St. Louis Park. Property owners are responsible for the full cost of pruning trees on private property. Property owners may use only tree services licensed by the City of St. Louis Park. Pruning of trees is strongly recommended during tree dormancy (November through March).Click here for a list of licensed tree services
