Part A Workshop
The rain garden workshop (Part A) gives property owners all the information they need to install a rain garden, redirect downspouts and select native perennials that don't require fertilizers or pesticides, and whose long roots help draw the water deep into the soil.

The Rec Center Banquet Room, 3700 Monterey Drive
$10 per person
Part B Workshop
The next step to the Part A workshop, this two-hour small group workshop will focus on the plans you developed from the Part A workshop. As a Step To It participant, you will keep an ongoing total of the steps you take during the challenge.
Using an activity conversion chart other activities such as biking, skateboarding, Tai Chi, or even just mowing the lawn can count toward overall steps. A website will allow you to record your steps online. Best of all, it's FREE! Registrants receive a free pedometer while supplies last.

2010 SLP Tree Sale
The tree canopy of St. Louis Park's private properties is dwindling. For every new tree residents plant, five more trees are lost to storms, pests, and disease. The presence in Minnesota of emerald ash borer, an invasive pest that has the potential to wipe out all our ash trees, makes it even more critical to start planting tomorrow's trees today.
In 2010 the City of St. Louis Park has teamed up with Tree Trust to make it affordable for you to reforest your own yard. Please do your part to restore the city's tree canopy by planting one of these trees this spring.
