Child Car Seat Recycling Event

updated: Friday, March 28, 2014

Kids grow up so fast these days. If you are a parent you know all too well how quickly your children will outgrow their child safety seat. But what you may not know is how quickly those child safety seats expire, or if they have been in a fender bender it is time to replace it as well!

What is the responsible, safety and earth conscious parent to do? Expired or outgrown child safety seats can now be recycled through the Recycling Association of Minnesota's REseat program. RAM is holding an event in the parking lot of the St. Louis Park AAA (5400 Auto Club Way) making it convenient to safely and securely recycle child car seats.

2014 event dates and location include:

  • May 2, 2014, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., St. Louis Park AAA parking lot
  • May 3, 2014, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., St. Louis Park AAA parking lot

Just drive into the parking lot, get in line, and they will take your car seat. The first 1,000 carseats will be collected free of charge courtesy of AAA. Carseats collected after that will be charged a minimal fee of $10 for recycling. For more information about the event, see the REseat webpage.
