Veterans' Memorial Amphitheater
2010 Amphitheater Reservation
The Veterans' Memorial Amphitheater is terraced into the hill on the south side of Wolfe Park and connects the park to the Excelsior & Grand Town Green. Its eight terraced tiers offer seating for 200 people. The concrete stage at the bottom of the hill is edged with trees and shrubs. When no public events are scheduled, the amphitheater can be rented for weddings and other private events from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily.

Block Party
Block parties require a street closure permit (no fee for permit). You should apply for the permit one to two weeks before the party.
If your application is approved, you will be able to pick up orange traffic cones to block off your street. Cones should be reserved at least one week before the street closure by calling (952) 924-2562. Cones are available at the Municipal Service Center, 7305 Oxford Street, which is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. When you pick up the cones, you will be required to pay a refundable deposit fee of $10 per cone.

Indoor Ice Rink Rental
You can rent The Rec Center's indoor ice arena for birthday parties, family celebrations, and company or school group events. We'll provide the gallery room for two hours without additional charge. The Banquet Room can also be reserved for use at half the cost. Rental skates are included with private ice rental. Due to limited supply, we encourage users to bring their own skates.
$165 plus tax, ($176.39) per hour

Indoor Ice Skating Party
During open public skating sessions, the adjacent gallery room can be rented for private parties. Skate rental is also available for $2.

Mobile Stage
2010 Special Services Guide ![]()
The Parks and Recreation Department's showmobile is available for rental. The Show mobile has a 36-foot built-in stage with a public address system. An extended stage and additional speakers are available for an additional fee.

Nature Center Birthday Party
Birthday parties for individuals age 4 and older feature a one-hour naturalist-led program and another hour for your use of a private party room. Children will meet a live animal, hike outdoors and then celebrate the birthday in a private room in the Nature Center. You bring the treats, paper ware and presents. Reservations are being accepted for Saturdays and Sundays through November.

Oak Hill Splash Pad
Our water playground at Oak Hill Park lets tots activate bubbling hoses, water nozzles and sprinkler arches. Just wave your hand over the sensor bollard and get ready to splash in the sun! It’s the equivalent of running through the sprinkler on a grand scale. This facility is unsupervised so parents should accompany children. Proper swim attire and swim diapers must be worn at the Splash Pad. Rubber soled water shoes are strongly recommended for all participants. Changing rooms and restrooms are available in the Oak Hill Park Pavilion during Splash Pad operating hours June 1 through Aug. 29. Outdoor portable toilets will be available before May 31 and after Sept. 1.

All pavilions are fully enclosed, have indoor restrooms, tables and chairs, and are available for rent.
Weekends from May 1 through Sept. 26

(Wolfe Park Pavilion can be rented year-round)
Holidays: Pavilions cannot be reserved on Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day.

Picnic Shelter Rental
2010 Picnic Shelter Rental Form 
These open-air shelters all have access to electricity and grills. Indoor toilets are open June 1 - Aug. 31. Portable toilets will be available before June 1 and after Aug. 31. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in any park. A permit is required for live bands or amplified music.

Banquet Room Rental
Located on the second floor of The Rec Center, the Banquet Room overlooks the Aquatic Park and Wolfe Park. The room is available for wedding receptions, birthday parties, bar and bat mitzvah parties, company events, family reunions and large meetings. The room comfortably seats 160 people and offers a caterer's holding kitchen, dance floor, "dimmable" lighting and sound system. Audio-visual equipment can be rented for an additional fee.
