How do I Change my Information or Status for the Housing Authority Waiting List?
In order to change your information or status you must send your changes and/or status request in writing to City Hall--this includes your social security number. Your file will then be updated and a postcard will be sent to you on the 15th of the month telling you your place on each of the waiting lists. It will also be indicated in the postcard if you are not on any of the lists at this time.

How do I know know if there is a Snow Parking Ban?
A parking ban goes into effect automatically whenever three inches or more of new snow has fallen and stay in effect until your street has been plowed to the curb.
You may call the Snow Hotline 24 hours a day at (952)924-2186 for a recorded message or call the Streets Department at (952)924-2563 during regular business hours (Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.).

Who do I Contact if a Street Light is out or Malfunctioning?
Contact the Traffic Department at (952) 924-2564 to report any street light out or signal light malfunctioning.
What can I do if my Neighbor's Lawn is Overgrown?
You can contact City Hall at (952)924-2565 with tall grass and weed concerns. An inspection will be sent out to inspect the property and send the homeowner a letter requesting them to mow the grass and remove the weeds.
What can I do if my Neighbor's Tree (Private) Hangs over my Yard?
As if now, there is no ordinances governing private trees, unless the tree is a diseased elm or oak tree. It is suggested that you talk to your neighbor about trimming their tree. You do have the right to trim the portion of the tree that overhangs your property so long as you don't structurally damage the tree.
What can I do if my Tree Looks Sick?
Call (952) 924-2565 and ask to have a tree inspector assess the health of your tree. The tree inspector will come to your house and assess the tree. You do not need to be present. The inspector will then call you to advise you about the tree. This service is free to all St. Louis Park residents, even if the tree in question is on your private property and not on the boulevard.
What do I need to before installing a fence?
Before putting up a fence, you must obtain a permit from the City of St. Louis Park and the following information is needed when applying:
- A survey of site plan showing the proposed location of your fence
- plans that show the design of your fence
- Payment of $15.00 for the permit fee

Where can I Find a Schedule on when the Street Sweeper will come?
Streets are swept several times a season. Since street cleaning is weather dependent, there is no set schedule.
"No Parking" signs are not posted for street sweeping. Sweepers will sweep around any parked cars in the expectation that the next time they sweep, there will be no cars parked there.

Where do I get a Recreational Burning Permit?
You can obtain a permit at the City Hall Fire Administration Office (located on the first floor of City Hall), or by faxing in a form that is available click here.
The City Hall Fire Administration Office is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m-4:30 p.m.
