updated: Tuesday, May 14, 2013The permit fee to demolish a single family structure (e.g., house, garage, in-ground swimming pool) is $155.00 including the state surcharge. In addition, a demolition damage deposit of $2500 is required to be held with the city. The demolition damage deposit must be submitted in the form of a cashiers check or money order only.
Exemption: If a new residential garage permit is being applied for that includes the existing garage demolition, on the same permit application, the demolition fee and deposit are not required. However, if a residential garage will be demolished without a new garage being applied for on the same permit application, the exemption isn’t allowed.
The permit fee for commercial demolition is $225.00 including the state surcharge. In addition, a demolition damage deposit of $5000 is required to be held with the city. The demolition damage deposit must be in the form of a cashiers check or money order only.
