In an emergency, every second counts. A File of Life card helps rescue workers responding to your home guide on-site treatment and notify your doctor and family.
St. Louis Park Fire Department has File of Life kits (including a card) available at City Hall for just $2.
Fire Department
The Fire Department employs approximately 24 full-time staff members including firefighters, administrators and support staff. It also employs 30 paid-on-call firefighters.
The Fire Department is responsible for
- Putting out fires
- Responding to medical emergencies and car accidents
- Overseeing clean-up of hazardous material spills
- Providing disaster recovery services
- Preventing fires by inspecting apartment buildings and offices
- Enforcing fire code compliance.
- Investigating causes of fires.

Unless out on a call, firefighters are at the station 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You may visit the station in the morning for free blood pressure checks.

Holidays
The Fire Station is open on all holidays. It is staffed 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

We Don't Call for Donations
Neither the Police nor the Fire Department calls people to raise money for equipment or public safety programs. If you receive a phone call asking for money, be advised that callers do not represent the St. Louis Park Fire or Police Department.
