New Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program for homeowners in danger of foreclosure
updated: Tuesday, March 20, 2012The Emergency Homeowners' Loan Program (EHLP) is a first-of-its-kind program that will offer up to $50,000 in interest-free, forgivable loans to Minnesota homeowners in danger of foreclosure due to involuntary unemployment, underemployment or medical issues. The deadline for accepting EHLP pre-applications has been extended to Wednesday, July 27th by the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and NeighborWorks America. Pre-applications that were received past the original July 22, 2011 deadline will be reviewed for eligibility. New pre-applications will be accepted in-person or via mail until 4:30 on July 27th and pre-applications received electronically until midnight on July 27th.
