St. Louis Park has been hosting a City celebration since the early 1900's. The 1914 event was dubbed as the “biggest jubilee celebration ever” in the Minneapolis Daily Newspaper. Through the years the celebration has been called Robin Hood Days and Party in the Park.

In the mid 1990's, Vision 2000 was launched to determine what citizens wanted St. Louis Park to be in the new century. A resounding vote asked for a stronger community celebration, where citizens and groups could participate on a number of levels. The concept was discussed, embraced and the Parktacular Celebration was born.

It is the mission of the Parktacular Celebration to provide SLP with city-wide events that bring together local businesses and citizens of all ages to celebrate our community pride. Individuals are encouraged to participate in Parktacular on three levels: as a member of the audience, as a presenter in an event and as a financial supporter.

Come join the fun at this fabulous annual community event. This yearly event includes a Block Party with music, a Grand Day Parade, Swimmin' to the Beat event, Senior Dinner, a concert, Inflatables, Kids Fest, free Canoe/Kayak rides, Promote Yourself Trade Show, Taste of St. Louis Park, Kids Eco Fair, Community Faith Service, Belgian Waffle Brunch, and much more.
