Capital Improvement Program
updated: Tuesday, February 21, 2012The Capital Improvement Program (CIP) details capital improvements and expenditures being planned in the city of St. Louis Park. It is a statement of the City's policies and financial abilities to manage the physical development of the community.
The CIP plans for the construction and maintenance of our water and sewer infrastructure, roads, bridges, city buildings, parks and recreational facilities, and technology. It identifies the years when improvements will be undertaken and possible funding sources. The first year reflects the adopted Budget for the fiscal year. The remaining four years represent a schedule and estimate of future capital needs that may be funded given projected revenue estimates. The CIP is reviewed and revised annually. A proposed CIP is presented to the City Council as part of the annual budget development process. A final CIP is presented to the City Council and is adopted concurrently with the annual budget in December.
The CIP includes Public Works projects that range from replacing street lights to repairing sewer pipes to reconstructing major intersections. Several of these projects are highlighted under the Current & Future Projects web page.
