Outdoor Skate Park

The Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive
Our Tier 1 skateboard park features two platforms with four foot high ramps on each end of the paved skating surface as well as grinding rails and box. Public restrooms, phones and vending machines are located inside The Rec Center. Any programs which could limit open skating will be posted. For rental information, call (952) 924-2540.

City of St. Louis Park - Rec CenterThe St. Louis Park Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive, features an outdoor aquatic park, two indoor ice arena—used by both St. Louis Park and Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys and girls High School hockey teams—and meeting and banquet facilities.

Admission fee events are not allowed at The Rec Center (Banquet/Gallery/Amphitheater/Aquatic Park) unless partnered with the City of St. Louis Park.

2015 Rec Center Rental Guide

Banquet Room Rental
Located on the second floor of The Rec Center, the Banquet Room overlooks the Aquatic Park and Wolfe Park. The room is available for wedding receptions, birthday parties, bar and bat mitzvah parties, company events, family reunions and large meetings. The room comfortably seats 160 people and offers a caterer's holding kitchen, dance floor, dimmable lighting and sound system. Audio-visual equipment can be rented for an additional fee. Contact Complete Beverage Service at 1-800-550-7750 if you wish to have alcohol at your event. An additional $270 charged to retain police officer if alcohol is served.

  • Sunday through Friday (two-hour minimum): $60 per hour (resident) / $70 (non-resident)
  • Saturday (8 a.m. - midnight): $600 (resident) / $700 (non-resident)
  • $700 refundable damage and kitchen cleaning deposit
  • Total fee depends on duration of rental and amenities

Gallery Room Rental
Located on the first floor of The Rec Center, the gallery can accommodate up to 60 people for small group gatherings, team meetings and birthday parties. Audio-visual equipment can be rented for an additional fee. Total fee depends on duration of rental and amenities.

  • Available to rent Sunday to Saturday, 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. (two-hour minimum)
  • $45 per hour (resident) / $55 per hour (non-resident)
  • $100 refundable damage deposit

Indoor Ice Skating Party
During open public skating sessions, either the Gallery or the Banquet Room can be rented for private parties. Each party will include two hour use of a room and admission to open skating for up to 15 people. Skate rental will be available for an additional $3 per pair.

  • Gallery available to rent Sunday to Saturday, 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. (two-hour minimum). $85 (resident) / $100 (non-resident)
  • Banquet Room available to rent Sunday to Saturday, 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. (two-hour minimum). $100 (resident) / $125 (non-resident)

Indoor Ice Rink Rental
Rent The Rec Center’s indoor ice arena for birthday parties, celebrations, and company or school events. We’ll provide the gallery room for two hours without additional charge. The Banquet Room can also be reserved for use at half price the cost. Up to 15 rental skates are included with private ice rental.

Veterans Memorial Amphitheater

Terraced into the hill on the south side of Wolfe Park (3700 Monterey Drive), the amphitheater connects the park to the Excelsior & Grand Town Green. All park buildings are fully enclosed, have indoor restrooms, tables and chairs, and are available for rent. Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed in any park.

Weekends, May 2 - Sept. 20
Weekdays, June 1 - Aug. 28
Rental hours:
8 a.m. - 10 p.m. (two-hour minimum)

$300 damage deposit for all park buildings
Fee depends on duration of rental and price listed below

Holidays: Buildings generally cannot be reserved on Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend or Labor Day weekend.

These enclosed park buildings accommodate 20 people.
$50 per hour (resident) / $60 (non-resident)

Accommodates 30 people
$50 per hour (resident) / $60 (non-resident)

This glass and stone pavilion features a fireplace, air conditioning, and can accommodate 30 people.

Open Air Picnic Shelter Rental

Beginning January 5, you may reserve your picnic shelter at the parks listed below! These open-air shelters can accommodate groups of 20 to 100.
