Civilian Personnel
updated: Tuesday, May 22, 2012In addition to dispatchers, the Police Department employs other non-sworn or civilian personnel. The Records Division is comprised of an office manager and five clerical personnel. The Records Division collects, processes, disseminates and maintains all department records as well as provides clerical and support services for the department.
The Police Department also has a community service officer (CSO) coordinator, and three part-time CSO/cadets. The CSO/cadets are temporary, non-benefit earning employees who are pursuing a career in law enforcement and are currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution. Community service officers maintain police equipment, issue citations, watch and feed prisoners, run errands, provide animal control, give tours to visitor groups, and provide other support services.
