- Birchwood occupies 266.3 acres or about 26 residential blocks.
- Birchwood has two neighborhood parks: Sunshine Park and Birchwood Park.
- Birchwood is in the Peter Hobart/Susan Lindgren elementary school attendance boundary.
- The northwest portion of the neighborhood is a designated wetland and floodplain.

- Commercial/industrial - 12.8 percent
- Birchwood has a total of 1,037 housing units (629 single family homes, 159 townhouses, 245 apartment units and 4 duplexes).
- Many homes were built in the early 1900's to take advantage of streetcar lines. After that, a few homes were built each year bringing the average age of homes to 1948.

Upcoming Neighborhood Events
Winter Party!
- Birchwood's annual winter party willb e held on Saturday, January 26th, in Birchwood Park from 5:00-8:00 pm.
- We will enjoy ice skating, hockey, a big bonfire and a horse-drawn hay ride and munch on treats and stay warm with hot chocolate.
Neighborhood Association:
- The Birchwood Neighborhood has had a neighborhood group since 1996. The neighborhood association sponsors a book club, garage sale, picnic, progressive dinner , movie nights and winter party.
