Fire Department staff recognized at 2017 MSFCA Conference
Staff from the St. Louis Park Fire Department was recognized at the 2017 Minnesota State Fire Chief’s Association (MSFCA) Annual Conference that was held October 18-21 in Rochester.
Fire Lieutenant Eva Hansen (pictured to the right) received the 2017 Public Educator Award for her superior leadership skills in promoting and raising awareness of fire and life safety in the community. To be considered for the award, nominees must have worked on development, implementation or delivery of fire and life safety programs, displayed an institutionalized value towards fire and life safety education, or provided financial or other noteworthy contributions towards fire and life safety education. In 2016 alone, Lt. Hansen conducted outreach efforts to more than 2,000 community members through fire safety education presentations, fire station tours and other events.
Deputy Fire Chief John Wolff was honored with the President’s Leadership Award for his tireless work as the association’s Finance Chair. The Leadership Award is determined by the MSFCA President and awarded to those who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership in serving the association.
