ROC to host first-ever outdoor high school hockey game
St. Louis Park’s newly constructed ROC (Recreation Outdoor Center) will host its first-ever outdoor high school hockey match-up tonight, Thursday, Nov. 16, when Hopkins Park Girls Hockey hosts Bloomington Jefferson at 7 p.m. This occasion will be marked by a celebrity puck drop featuring Jenny Potter, a four-time Olympian in women’s ice hockey, and St. Louis Park Councilmember Anne Mavity.
ParkTV will be on site broadcasting the game live on Comcast SD channel 16/HD Channel 859; CenturyLink SD channel 8116/HD channel 8616; and web streamed.
The ROC is a multi-use outdoor recreational facility located on the campus of The St. Louis Park Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive, St. Louis Park. It features a covered ice rink in the winter months for hockey, open public skating, broomball and other special skating events. Owned and operated by the City of St. Louis Park, the ROC was completed in 2017 with financial assistance from the St. Louis Park Hockey Association and a Hennepin County Youth Sports Grant.
