Upcoming France Avenue closure
The City of St. Louis Park, in partnership with Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis, will be improving the intersection and enhancing the pedestrian crossing of France Avenue at 38th Street. To allow for construction, France Avenue between 38th and 39th streets will be closed Thursday, Nov. 1 – Thursday, Nov. 8.
During this time, traffic will be detoured on city streets as follows:
- Southbound France Avenue to Glenhurst Avenue (St. Louis Park)
- Northbound France Avenue to Ewing Avenue (Minneapolis)
To manage the detour, four-way stop signs will be temporarily installed at:
- 38th and 39th streets at France Avenue
- 38th and 39th streets at Glenhurst Avenue
In addition, Glenhurst and Ewing avenues will be posted with “no parking” signs during this closure. The St. Louis Park Police Department will patrol the affected St. Louis Park streets more frequently during this time.
The City of St. Louis Park is looking forward to providing this much-anticipated pedestrian crossing in this location. View the illustration of the pedestrian crossing improvements so see what the area will look like when complete. Every effort will be made to complete this project as quickly as possible in order to minimize the inconvenience to both residents and motorists. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the closure and detours.
