St. Louis Park City Council votes to return to saying Pledge of Allegiance at regular council meetings

Post Date:July 15, 2019 7:30 p.m.
At its Monday, July 15, 2019, regular meeting, the St. Louis Park City Council voted 7-0 to amend its rules and procedures and return to its previous practice of saying the Pledge of Allegiance as part of the agenda of its twice-monthly regular city council meetings. Council members voting to reinstate the Pledge of Allegiance at twice-monthly regular city council meetings provided a variety of reasons for their vote.

The vote came following a motion by Council Member Thom Miller to suspend the council’s rules and procedures, which allowed an immediate vote regarding the Pledge of Allegiance.

A recording of the entire meeting, which was broadcast live, will be available on the city’s YouTube channel at by the afternoon of July 16, 2019.
