190 people attend third annual clothing swap

Post Date:August 05, 2019 8:30 a.m.

On July 29, 190 people attended the city’s third annual clothing swap event. People came from St. Louis Park and 19 other cities to swap unwanted items for new wardrobe pieces!

In total, 2,300 pounds of clothing, shoes and accessories were brought to the event – roughly 500 pounds more than last year! Participants took home 1,400 pounds, while 875 pounds were donated to STEP, Old School Thrift Shop (Minneapolis) and Arc’s Value Village (New Hope). There were also 25 pounds set aside for textile recycling.

Thank you to all the participants who attended, as well as the city’s Recycling Champions who helped make the event a success.

Thank you also to St. Louis Park Public Schools for the use of the building and to their fantastic facilities staff who did setup and takedown of all 40 tables!
