Apply for a healthy living grant
Health in the Park is a grassroots initiative which began in 2013 to create connections, engage in conversation and take action to inspire healthier, more active individuals.
Because health starts where we live, work, learn and play, we can create opportunities to be healthy all around us.
- In markets that offer affordable, nutritious food
- In spaces that encourage social connection and physical activity
- In housing that is safe, secure and stable for every person
- Through school environments that prepare students to succeed
St. Louis Park already has many policies, systems and environments that support health. Recognizing what we already have and building on those foundations strengthens our community and builds a healthier future for all. In support of this initiative, the City of St. Louis Park coordinates two programs to support community health and wellbeing.
Health in the Park Champions
Health in the Park Champions work with the city, school district and local organizations to advance health through programs and policy. Some examples of activities and initiatives champions work on are:
- Serving on the school nutrition advisory committee
- Organizing a community bike ride
- Creating conversations to break the stigma of mental illness
Champions meet quarterly to discuss projects, learn about up and coming activities and share ideas. To learn more about this program and get involved, contact Laura Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Healthy Living Grant’s purpose is to support neighborhoods, individuals and organizations that collaborate with members of their communities in the places where they live, learn, work and play to implement activities that support physical activity, nutrition, mental wellbeing and community building.
