Communications and marketing staff produce programming for ParkTV’s five local cable channels, covering news, sports, performances, presentations, meetings and events in St. Louis Park.

Websites and social media

Staff develop and maintain the city’s website, working with city departments to promptly post updates. They also maintain the city’s social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and provide city posts on Nextdoor.

City publications

Community news, upcoming events and information about recreation opportunities are included in several city publications produced by the department, including the Park Perspective (published and mailed citywide in February, May, July and October) and parks and recreation brochure (March, August and November).

Media relations

Staff work with the media to keep the public informed about city issues and current events. All media inquiries can be directed to the communications and marketing manager.

General communications

A wide variety of print materials — brochures, flyers, postcards, new resident packets, business publications — are produced by communications and marketing staff. Many items are mailed directly to homes in order to keep residents informed of important citywide events.
