The Louisiana Avenue and Highway 7 bridge in St. Louis Park has a lighting feature at all times, and can be custom lit with certain colors on special occasions and in recognition of special events. St. Louis Park organizations, or residents affiliated with organizations, may request special lighting to recognize a specific cause or to commemorate or enhance a community event. The city does not grant requests of a private nature such as birthdays or personal anniversaries, or religious holidays.
Special lighting for approved applications starts at sunset on the requested date and ends at sunrise the following morning.
How to request special lighting
To request special lighting, complete the online application at least 14 days before the event. The 14-day requirement may be waived when it’s not practical, such as recognizing a school sports championship.
Applications will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Communications staff will review requests and submit them to the city manager for final determination. All decisions are final.
The St. Louis Park City Council will be informed prior to lighting for special events.
