Public skating and public hockey are canceled until further notice. This action is being taken in order to protect the health and wellness of participants and the community. Thank you for your understanding! 


The skating times below are reserved for general public skating - no hockey sticks, pucks, equipment or goals are allowed.

Skating is available for all ages. No registration is required.

Indoor skating

Indoor public skating is available at The Rec Center, 3700 Monterey Drive.

July 4 – Aug. 30 Dates and Times
Saturday 10:15 – 11:45 a.m. (no skating July 18, Aug. 15, Aug. 22)
Sunday 2:15 – 3:45 p.m. (no skating July 19, Aug. 16)


  • Youth and senior: $3.50 per person
  • Adult: $4 per person
  • 10-passes (youth and senior): $30
  • 10-passes (adult): $35

Rec Center Skate Shop

The skate shop is located in The Rec Center next to the gallery in between the west and east arenas. The shop features rental skates, skate sharpening and a small pro shop.

The shop is open Saturdays 10 a.m – noon and Sundays 2 – 4 p.m. Skate rental and sharpening services are available by request outside of these hours. You can drop off skates and they will be sharpened within 48 hours.

Skate rentals are $3 and skate sharpening is $5 per pair.

Skating lessons

St. Louis Park Skate School offers the Ice Skating Institute (I.S.I.) weSKATE program for ages four and up. Each class presents a progression of specific skills that build upon one another. View a list of current ice skating and hockey lessons.
