Family programs are for all ages, unless noted otherwise. Children ages two and over must pay and be accompanied by a paid adult unless otherwise stated.

Preschool programs

Puppet Story Time

Laugh out loud as the Westwood puppets tell a story in their animated comical style. Puppet Story Time is all ages; those 2 and over must pay and be accompanied by a paid adult.

The Tuesday Turtles Preschool program will explore and discover the world outside while on naturalist-led hikes. We'll listen to nature stories, create crafts, play games and laugh with our famous puppets. Tuesday Turtles is for ages 4 - 5 and is a drop-off program.

Westwood Hills Nature Center is a great resource for home school science learning activities! We can customize our recreation and natural history programs to fit a variety of ages and learning needs. Call 952.924.2544 for more information about scheduling a visit for a small group or home school cooperative.

Home school programs are for ages 5 – 12; child(ren) must be accompanied by an adult. No charge for supervising adult.

Winter program topics could include:

  • Life in the cold
  • Orienteering
  • Snowshoeing

  • Winter survival
