What do you do at Westwood Hills Nature Center?

I am a naturalist programmer.

I have worked in environmental education for several years. I started my career as a zookeeper at Cameron Park Zoo. I have also worked at Prior Lake Savage Area Schools in the nature-based preschool program, Richardson Nature Center, Como Zoo and Sea Life Aquarium. I have volunteered with the Science Museum of Minnesota, the Raptor Center and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

How has nature impacted your life?

I have always loved nature, science and exploration. One of my favorite things about nature-based learning is that it allows me to be a lifelong learner and always discover something new! I love to share these discoveries with guests and hear about their own stories and experiences.

What is your favorite part of working at Westwood?

While at Westwood, I have had the chance to learn from some amazing mentors, and I feel lucky to be part of such a great team of volunteers and staff. I am looking forward to adding to the already outstanding programming at Westwood and continuing to grow in a facility that takes such pride in the stewardship of natural spaces, guest services and volunteerism.
