The ROC (Recreation Outdoor Center) is a multi-use outdoor recreational facility located on the campus of The Rec Center.
The facility is used as a covered ice rink in the winter months for hockey, open public skating, broomball and other special skating events. In the spring, it can be converted to a covered, turfed field for baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse, as well as special events such as the annual spring egg hunt. During the summer, a dry, concrete floor provides space for the Children First Ice Cream Social and a variety of other special events from weddings to movies in the park, to graduation parties.
Facility rental information
The ROC's has three different rental opportunities depending on the time of year - turf rental, dry floor rental and ice arena rental. The facility rental space measures 200 feet by 85 feet and includes bleacher seating for 450. Call 952.924.2540 to reserve your event.

Ice arena rental, Oct. 29 – March 19 (weather permitting)
Rent the outdoor ice arena for birthday parties, celebrations and company or school events. Up to 15 rental skates are included with private ice rental.

Plan your wedding or next event at the ROC. The outdoor facility accommodates up to 700 people for wedding receptions, Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties, company events, birthday parties and large-scale gatherings. The facility rental includes a public announcement (PA) system. There is a $60 food and beverage fee for events over 100 people, and a $150 refundable damage deposit. Tax is included in the rental rates below.

Special events and activities
Lions Club Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m. (Egg hunt will begin at 10:15 a.m.)
Children ages 3 – 8 will hunt for candy and special eggs in separate age categories. Each participant will receive a bag to collect their goodies. Bring your camera for a picture with the Park Bunny and Lions Club Lion! Prizes will be awarded for the coloring contest for ages 8 and under. Coloring sheets can be picked up at The Rec Center or downloaded when you register. Make sure to bring your completed masterpiece to the event. The event is sponsored by the St. Louis Park Lions Club.

Children First Ice Cream Social and Kids Garage Sale
Sunday, May 19, 2 – 5 p.m.
Kids ages 6 – 12 can get hands-on experience of the ins and outs of handling money while selling toys they no longer play with at the Children First Ice Cream Social. Children must be accompanied by an adult during the sale.

Sunday, June 9, 1 – 3 p.m. (check-in begins at 12:30 p.m.)
Puzzlers age 12 and above, get your team together and come to the first inaugural Puzzlepalooza jigsaw puzzle challenge! Teams of two to four people will compete to finish at 500-piece puzzle in the shortest amount of time. Puzzle is provided. There is a maximum of 35 teams, so register early! Cash prize for the first- and second-place finishers.

Friday, July 19, noon – 2 p.m.
Gather your pennies or fun games, music and more! Games and activities cost 2 – 4 cents per play. Snack coupons can be purchased for $1. Wear socks if you plan to bounce in the moon walks. The event is for ages 3 and over.

Adult Pinewood Derby
Saturday, July 20, check-in and pre-race trials begin at noon, race begins at 12:30 p.m.
You built the car, so why not race it? This event will have two classes: one standard rules class and one modified rules class. Rules will be emailed upon registration. Food and beverage will be onsite. Prizes awarded for the top three winners in each category, plus one prize for the best car. The event is for ages 18 and over.

Wednesday, Aug. 21, 5 – 7:30 p.m.
Community Link is an interactive community event that links St. Louis Park families with community services and resources in an easy one-stop shop format! The free event offers services such as school resources, haircuts, bike repair, family portraits, employment resources and health care information. A picnic-style meal will be served, and Aquatic Park access will be available to participants attending the event.
