Street Light Replacement Program

The Street Light Replacement Program is a long-term program providing for the replacement of street light systems which have reached their life expectancy with energy efficient LED street lights. These LED street lights will save energy and maintenance costs for the city and reduce the amount of carbon emissions. The 51 street lights proposed for replacement in 2017 include:
  • 29 lights on 36th between Texas Avenue & Highway 169
  • 6 lights on Phillips Parkway
  • 16 lights in the Amhurst Neighborhood
Both the poles and the light fixtures are replaced as part of the Street Light Replacement Program.
As part of the Pavement Management Program an additional 40 street lights will be replaced in the following locations:
  • 5 lights on 37th Street between Aquila Avenue & Target as part of the new bridge project
  • 35 light on Texas Avenue between Highway 7 & 31st Street as part of Pavement Management project
